"Have you guys go to MCD last night?"
"No? Why? Are they introducing new menu or toys?"
"Aiya, not that McD, but the Malaysian Cultural Day lar!!!"
Malaysian Cultural Day is an
annual cultural event organized by Persatuan Sains Farmasi and was carried out at Cahaya Complex (KOMCA) of the main campus of Universiti Sains
Malaysia on 19th October 2013 (Saturday). 62 young and enthusiastic pharmacy students were
actively involved as committee members to organize this event. And the event itself was
opened to be participated by all USM students in order to understand our rich and unique culture. The total amount of visitors
and participants of this event was estimated at around 250 people.
The whole event is divided
into three main sessions:
- Cultural Exhibition (4:00pm – 7:00pm)
- Dinner hour (7:00pm
– 8:00pm)
- Cultural Performance (8:00pm – 10:30pm)
The main concept of this
multicultural based event is to reveal the uniqueness and colorfulness of
Malaysian multiracial and multicultural background to the general public in USM
main campus. With this concept, this event was expected to achieve a primary
goal that the great diversity of Malaysian culture can be highly appreciated and
hence the relationship between difference ethnics can also be strongly
enhanced. This event has also successfully provided a platform to build and
strengthen the ‘chemical bonds’ between students, lecturers and staffs of the
School of Pharmaceutical Science, USM.
